MOVIE REVIEW HARRY PORTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2

Now then its not the easiest of situations. Are we to rejoice the coming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 or nurse a broken heart at the thought never seeing Harry and his friends come alive on the big screen again...No matter which emoticon you choose to depict your state of mind one thing is for sure -you don't just watch a Harry Potter film you witness a phenomenon. The Potter phenomenon that started some 10 years ago. A phenomenon having taken gigantic proportions,a legacy intertwined with our childhood, youth, its memories and dreams. It opened a whole new world for us and kindled our imagination, irrigating our thoughts by making  elves, magicians, wizards, magic wands, spells and abrakadabra all so completely believable.

It might all seem totally anachronistic for some one so far immune to the escapades of Harry,Hermione and Ron.But for loyalists like us it is a celebration-rejoicing about and along with that child present in all of us,that part of our childhood that we hold so dear. Its a film that's not dependent on word of mouth publicity or good reviews. If you haven't read or seen much of Harry Potter I suggest you stay clear of the bandwagon as you are going to be totally lost-not just in the film which is peppered by familiar faces and interconnected with all previous parts but also get drowned in the cheering, whistling and clapping that will accompany the visuals on screen while you wonder what the gung-ho is all about. However if you have been baptised into Potterism then you are going to watch it anyway. So my saying that there couldn't have been a better farewell to Harry than this film would not make much of a difference apart from registering me as a Potter fan!!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final novel in the series, is split into two feature-length parts. Part 1 was released in November 2010 and Part 2 was released This Friday. It has all the ingredients of a grand fairytale farewell.-tears shining through glittering smiles, cheering, anticipation and heart wrenching parting. How much you'll enjoy this flick is directly proportional to how much craze you have for it.This last installment takes us to witness an all out battle in the wizard world as Harry(Daniel Radcliffe),Hermione(Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) take on Lord Voldmort(Ralph fiennes).
Hogwarts where they began their wizarding life is where it all ends. The film pulsates with action and the unfolding of events fast paced.Harry and his friends have an uphill task that entails a lot to destruction and parting of dear ones.So much has to be packed in that not much time is spent mourning the losses but we don't complain because it is all well wrapped by moments of brilliance and scenes we had always hoped to see.

Through the course of this film Harry comes to term with his mortality and we experience the end of an era. Many would have grown up seeing Danial, Emma and Rupert grow up with them as they portrayed their respective characters. Many would have read Harry Potter as their first book gifted to them by their parents or allowed into a film hall for the very first time to watch a Potter flick!!!Many "firsts" are connected to this series. The slight hint of 5'oclock shadow on Harry's jaw line shows much time has passed. From innocent 10 year olds to knocking on the doors of adulthood the itinerary would be the same for a lot of us just that this time we would have to part ways.

To call this the last in the Potter Series and say goodbye with a heavy heart is all very painful. A better way to put it across would be to say it has all come a full circle. While the curtains might be down on this one, Harry and his friends along with all their adventures will forever be safely enclosed in the vaults of our hears!!!

Harry we'll always remember you....
